Floating Witch hat DIY for Halloween with luminaires

Halloween is around the corner and we all want our homes to look spookiest for Halloween but most of the time we don’t get much time or run out of ideas. Check out more amazing ideas for Halloween decorations. Let’s learn how to make a floating Witch hat DIY for Halloween with luminaires with some quick and easy steps.

Things you would need:

  • Birthday cone hat
  • paper plates (medium size)
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Flat paint brush
  • Scissor
  • Glue gun
  • Clear string or fishing line
  • Wood beads
  • Battery Operated Tea Lights
  • Outdoor command strips

Step 1: Mark a circle in the center of the paper plate according to the birthday cone hat. But make sure, you make a slightly smaller circle than the hat’s circle as you have to glue them together.

Step 2: After marking the circle, cut it out with scissors and color the hat and the paper individually with acrylic black paint, and let it dry for some time. Note: make sure it is opaque. Meanwhile, you could make some more following these steps.

Step 3: As we want the floating hats to be lighted, it’s time for the lights. Tie one side of the clear string to the tea light and measure the length of the string at which you want the light to be hung from the tip of the hat. Note: Since we have an opaque hat so the tea lights must be a little bit lower than the level of the paper plate. So measure it accordingly.

Step 4: Now pierce the wood bead from the other side and nowhere is the tricky part. The bead will work as a stopper of the string so that the light does not get loose. So, tie the bead accordingly from the light so that it gets stuck on the top of the hat.

Step 5: Measure the clear string for the length you want the hat to hang from the ceiling. I would prefer 3ft to 4ft. You may also hang them at different heights to make them look interesting.

After deciding the length, tie one end of the string to the wooden bead and pierce another end from the tip of the hat.

Step6: After doing so Glue the cone hat and the paper plate together. Note: make sure that the string does not get glue in any case.

TADAAAAAA floating Witch hat DIY for Halloween with luminaires is ready to float.

Use the outdoor command strip to hang the hat from the ceiling and you have a nice spooky look for this Halloween.

HAPPY DIY DOING!!
